Privacy Policy

The short version

Docuspeak reads your documents aloud entirely on your device. The speech voice is a neural model bundled inside the app and runs on your iPhone's own processor. Your documents, the audio generated from them, and your reading positions stay on the device and are never sent anywhere. There are no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking code in the app.

You can verify this yourself: turn on airplane mode and the app works exactly as it does online.

What stays on your device

The following are stored locally, inside the app's own private storage area, and are removed when you delete the app:

• Documents you import. The original PDF or EPUB file, plus the processed text used for reading.
• Reading positions and progress for each document in your library.
• Your settings — chosen voice, speaking speed, pause length, and sleep timer preference.
• A count of how many PDFs you have imported, kept in the device keychain. It is a number and nothing else — no filenames, no content — and it never leaves the device.
• A diagnostic log of app events, capped in size, used to investigate playback problems. It is written only to your device. Nothing is sent from it unless you choose to export and share it with us yourself.

What we collect

Nothing. Docuspeak contains no analytics framework, no crash-reporting SDK, no advertising identifier, and no third-party libraries that transmit data about you. The app makes no network requests in the course of normal use.

Information Apple may provide to us

Because Docuspeak is distributed through Apple, Apple may give us aggregate, anonymous information — for example the number of downloads, or crash reports and basic usage statistics from people who have agreed to share analytics with developers in their iOS settings. We never receive your name, your email, or anything about the documents you read. This data is collected by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy, and you can turn it off on your device under Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

During the beta period, the app is distributed via TestFlight, which additionally lets testers send us feedback and screenshots. Anything sent that way is sent deliberately by you.

If you contact us

If you email us — for support, feedback, or to send a document that reads badly — we receive whatever you choose to put in that email, including your email address and any file you attach. We use it only to answer you and to fix the problem, and we do not add you to any mailing list. Documents you send us are used to improve how the app reads similar documents, and are not published or shared.

Children

Docuspeak is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date. If a future version of the app ever collects anything at all, that change will be described here plainly and before it takes effect.
